Rolling Stone magazine called U2’s latest effort No line on the horizon their best effort since the release of 1991’s Achtung Baby! The general consensus in terms of reviews for the newest U2 album have been rather favorable. I myself have been thoroughly enjoying it since I picked it up weeks ago.
I recently came across their latest video for Magnificent which is a great song by the way. Which led me to wonder how the album is actually doing on the album charts since I have not really heard any of their new songs being played on the radio. Which baffles me by the way! After only 12 weeks on the charts the album is down to #56 on the Billboard Album charts which again just blows me away. There are albums on the chart that have been on there for more than a year and they are doing better than No line on the horizon, WTF?
I am left wondering why this new U2 album is not really getting any play on the radio stations as this is what drives the album sales. Let me know if you agree with me on the fact that there are some quality songs on the No line on the horizon album that would do really well if given the air time. It’s not like U2 did not promote the hell out of this album with live shows, appearances on Letterman and other TV shows. So does anyone have a theory as to why this latest album from U2 is crashing down the album charts?
In case you have not seen it yet here is that video for Magnificent that I saw on Youtube the other day, enjoy!

maybe its the lyrics of the “Magnificient” song itself … “only love could leave such a MARK …. only love could leave such a SCAR …..MAGNIFICIENT” …… is this song not about the transgression of peoples who force the MAGEN upon children? is it not a glorification of what was called the abomination that is a tradition of child molestation in the middle-east and africa and usa? tho in those places its not called a transgression but a “godlike” “eye-appealing” “wise” thing to do …… cutting the child at the cross +, that is the middle of its body …. tho in those places its called “circumcision”, its not … and its on the way OUT not IN ……maybe U-2 should re-think their allegiances …
… and yet, as pop music is often written, it may be interpreted completely opposite of what it suggests … tho in that particular theme its often written to be both good and evil, a wounder and a healer …. tho its not …. lets hope the MARK … + … is the uncovering of the wound and the healer of the SCAR …. clearing the cloud of confusion away that good judgement may prevail within the people once in darkness …. Goodwill to You Too ….
