Have you ever wanted to learn to play an instrument but never had the time or the money for that matter? Well in case you did not know the three most popular instruments that people want to learn how to play are the piano, guitar and the drums. Thankfully all three instruments translate very well to teaching via online videos and classes on the internet.
You can YouTube any of these three popular instruments and find little teaser videos of people giving lessons. The obvious reason why the videos are normally only teaser clips is because they are trying to get you to go to their site for the full lessons. Yes even online lessons to learn to play an instrument will cost you some money.
Many sites do however offer free lessons. Free music lessons to the beginners of that particular instrument. The beauty of this concept is that the lessons that are posted for free are very basic and usually hold no value to the more experienced players. That’s when you can expect to start paying for lessons if you want to start advancing your musical talents. Unless of course you are one of those naturally gifted people that only need a few lessons to start picking it up and playing on your own.
Amazingly there are a lot of people that have this ability, the ability to learn the instrument on their own basically teach themselves to play. I am not one of those people
That’s ok I like so many people now have easy access to online lessons for beginners. I have been looking for guitar lessons myself, still looking for a series of lessons that I feel comfortable following especially once I get past the free lessons and I have to decide if I want to pay to learn more from what ever particular website I want to learn guitar from. I will write again about my online guitar ventures once I find a decent site that I want to invest some time with. Suggestions are welcome…..

I only had a few lessons, and found them mindnumbingly boring. Once I got a basic grasp of playing chords, I moved on and taught myself for a few years until I decided I wanted to learn fingerstyle guitar. This was a definite direction I wanted to go in so I had no problem with taking lessons.

I agree with you Ricky and I have the feeling that may be the road I take as even the convenience of learning from home on the internet is still a struggle to keep my attention. I think once i get the cords down I might try and find my own way after that as well.
Sweet guitar site by the way…..;-)
